Walking this morning from our campsite in Micanopy Florida I felt a sense of peace come over me. This area in McIntosh down the road from Gainesville FL is a throwback to simpler times. Quiet streets, older houses and beautiful huge oak(?) trees with spanish moss dripping down.

An old, weathered barn tucked in the woods caught my eye on one property. Off the main drag I ran across an antique shop that had a horseless carriage on the porch. Don’t see one of those everyday! We stayed in Sportsman’s Cove which was at the end of F Avenue right on the water. This old park was fine by us and the closest to Gainesville that offered full hook-up. We will probably be back in mid-July for my daughter’s graduation.

Next stop is Tallahassee to stay on the property of our good friend Cathy. Funny, we are going from Gainesville, home of the University of Florida (Go Gators) to Tallahassee, home of the Seminoles. Both areas are northern Florida for sure. Temperatures during our stay in February dipped into the high 30s in the wee hours but rebounded to mid-70s. We are not in South Florida anymore 🙂
