After we left Nicole in Gainesville we were off to Skidaway Island near Savannah, GA.  An old fashioned McDonald’s – one of many I have seen.

And this is the Diamond Causeway over to Skidaway Island.  Chris has renamed it “Black” Diamond Causeway because we had a near miss at the bottom when someone cut us off!!

It was a beautiful park but it was also a comedy of errors!

First, you pick your own site – kinda weird to us, but ok…  Then we found out that only so many sites were full hook up and had to be reserved months in advance (it did not say that on the web site – just full hook up available).

In the meantime my brother, on Fripp Island in South Carolina with my sister and her husband at their house, realized how close we were and invited us there.

We jumped on it.  We were very unhappy where we were.  But we had to find a campground near Fripp.  We did that and made a reservation for the next night.  The next morning we drove into Savannah and had a nice little walk on the river.  It’s so beautiful there!

After that it was pack up time again and we headed out to Fripp (actually St. Helena Island and Tuc in de Woods Campground).
